Our Story

CAVALIER was established in 1987 by master tailor Janusz Kowalski, who envisioned creating a sanctuary for discerning gentlemen seeking uncompromising quality and timeless style. From our original location on Warsaw's prestigious Nowy Świat street, we have remained dedicated to the art of fine tailoring.

What began as a modest atelier has grown into Warsaw's premier destination for luxury menswear, while maintaining the intimate, personal service that defined our beginnings. Each garment that leaves our workshop carries not just fabric and thread, but 37 years of accumulated knowledge and passion.

Our philosophy is simple: clothing should enhance the wearer's confidence and reflect their individual character. We achieve this through meticulous attention to detail, premium materials, and a collaborative approach to design.

Master Tailor

Janusz Kowalski

With over 50 years of tailoring experience, Janusz Kowalski is the heart and soul of CAVALIER. His journey began as an apprentice in Naples, Italy, where he spent seven years mastering the traditional methods of Neapolitan tailoring under the guidance of Maestro Giovanni Russo.

After returning to Poland in the early 1980s, Janusz recognized a need for true bespoke tailoring in Warsaw. His unique approach combines Italian fabric knowledge with an understanding of the Polish gentleman's needs, creating garments that are both internationally sophisticated and personally relevant.

Today, Janusz continues to oversee every bespoke commission, ensuring each client receives the same meticulous attention that has defined his career. His philosophy: "A well-tailored garment is not just clothing—it's armor for the modern gentleman."
